Continuing the theme

I had fun experimenting with the background of this piece.  It is multi-layered (adding and taking away ink) creating a subtlety of depth.

More subtly

In this print I wanted to soften the color and still maintain the illusion of depth.  I used  line sparingly.

Appreciating the Petunia

The depth and velvety texture of this flower is amazing.  In this piece I used black ink, which is unusual for me.

Back to the garden

I just saw an incredible exhibition of Japanese Wood Block Prints.  I was so inspired by their delicacy of line and luminosity of color, I had to explore these elements more closely.
