Recently I have resumed printmaking, using monotype
techniques. I’m inspired by the versatility of this process to
create transparencies and ambiguities in the subject. As I
explore the possibilities of this technique, I’m using motifs
from the natural world and themes from Aboriginal and
African art. My work focuses on variety in texture, color and
pattern. I often use monotyped paper and images to collage
onto other monotypes giving added depth and dimension.

Back to the garden
I just saw an incredible exhibition of Japanese Wood Block Prints. I was so inspired by their delicacy of line and luminosity of color, I had to explore these elements more closely.
